Potosí is a very special city; located at an altitude of 4,100 m it is one of the highest cities in the world and it is also one of the three colonial cities of Bolivia.
Potosí was during her heyday the largest and richest city in South America and the main supplier of silver at the Spanish court. You can do a tour to the Cerro Rico mines to see the miners at work.
