Uyuni - Salar de Uyuni - Uyuni, private tour
You will depart at around ten on this wonderful tour through the Salar de Uyuni.
First day you will visit the Train Cemetery, and then Colchani. Here you will see the process of manufacturing domestic salt and handicrafts made out of salt. You will also visit the Salt Museum.
Then you will enter the Salt flats where you will get to see the Ojos del Salar (eyes of the salt flats); here bubbling gases escape from underneath the salt flat, and Montones de Sal (salt piles). You will visit the Salt Hotel and the cactus island Incahuasi where you can go for a walk to observe giant cacti and volcanic rocks. From the highest point you will have a 360° view.
At Incahuasi you will have lunch, too.
In the afternoon you will cross the salt flats northward and you will end the day at the base of the Tunupa Volcano, in Tahua.
On the luxury private tour you will spend the night in a Tayka Hotel de Sal (Salt Hotel) in Tahua. During the basic private tour you will stay overnight in Tahua or in Coquesa in a basic accommodation (dorm room) with shared bathroom.
Whatever your choice is, you will be surrounded by silence!
On the second day of your tour you can walk up the Tunupa Volcano to one of the viewpoints that offer an amazing view over the salt flats. After that you will visit the archaeological site of Chullpares, pre-Inca mummies, in Coquesa. Just outside the village you might spot lamas and maybe also flamingos.
In the afternoon you will cross the gorgeous salt flats one more time.
You will be back in Uyuni in the late afternoon, around five.
