Isla del Sol North to South and Isla de La Luna

The tour starts at 8.30 hrs. when the guide comes to pick you up from your hotel in Copacabana.
You will go to the port to go on board of the private boat that brings you in 1¾ hour to Challapampa on the north side of Isla del Sol.

There you will walk for some 45 minutes to the Chincana ruins. On the way you can see Las Pisadas del Sol (prints of the sun) and La Roca Sagrada (the holy rock). At La Chincana you will see the ruins of labyrinths and houses.

After this visit you will start a 3 hours hike to the south of Isla del Sol. The hike can be pretty strenuous because of the altitude in combination with the fierce sunshine.
On the way you can enjoy fascinating views of the Cordillera Real (Andean mountain range) and Lake Titicaca. Halfway there will be a break to rest a while and to eat your pack lunch before you will continue the walk to Yumani.
There you will see more Inca ruins like the Inca Stairs (Escalinatas) of Yumani and the Fountain of Eternal Youth.

Then you will go to your hostal/hotel for your dinner and stay overnight. You can choose between staying in a basic hostal or in Eco Lodge La Estancia.

The next day after breakfast you will go for a walk of 45 minutes to visit the ruins of the Pilkokaina Palace. On the way you can enjoy the views of the Cordillera Real and Lake Titicaca once more.
After visiting the Palace you will descend to the port to go on board of the boat that brings you in 45 minutes to an hour to Isla de La Luna.
On this island you will visit the Inca ruins of El Palacio de las Vírgenes (virgins) del Sol or Inaj Uyo.

After this visit you will return to Copacabana by boat, where the tour ends around 12.00 hrs.
If you want we can include a bus ticket or a private transfer from Copacabana to La Paz.

Please note: It is recommended to take only small pieces of luggage to Isla del Sol such as a daypack or small backpack. You need to carry these yourself. You can leave larger pieces of luggage behind in storage in Copacabana to be picked-up on your return journey.
