Bella Vista
private tour, full day

This is the most beautiful, longest and most varied hike in the surroundings of Samaipata.

The hike of 7 to 8 hours goes largely through an almost virgin forest with an enormous variety of flora and fauna. You will walk along streams, where you often find footprints of mammals, through valleys and over mountains with beautiful views.

With a bit of luck, you may see monkeys, wild boar, deer, an anteater or other mammals. We even spotted a puma. There are many birds including colourful toucans, woodpeckers, groups of noisy parrots, hawks and many other species.
You will also see a variety of orchids and ferns.

The mountain pass Abra del Puma offers you a beautiful view on the Codo de los Andes (Andes Elbow).
Later on, you can enjoy a magnificent and unique 360° panorama from a mountain top.
The Andes condor can regularly be seen in these places, gliding majestically through the air. The king vulture, the cóndor de los llanos, can also be found here.

The hike is certainly not an easy one; you need to be in good physical condition and be able to cover long distances in the mountains.

Sometimes you will have to scramble and need the support of tree roots and lianas. Your efforts will be rewarded though with fantastic views and the experience of trekking through subtropical forest.
